Our Principal Consultant

Jeff E. Moore, CPA/CFF, CFE, CIRA, the Founder, President, and Principal Consultant of JE Moore, has 46 years of professional accounting and business consulting experience. Before launching his firm in 1984, he began his career as an auditor with Ernst & Young, where he worked for five years. He then spent two years as Audit Manager for a Top-25 Atlanta CPA firm, and two more years as VP-Finance for a $45 million/year private company. When Jeff formed JE Moore, he became one of the pioneers of the now-popular “part-time and interim chief financial officer” industry. He’s provided CFO and controllership services to over 800 business, governmental and not-for-profit entities, both small and large and in many industries. Jeff graduated, cum laude, in 1977, from Georgia State University with a BBA degree in Accounting. He’s a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor (CIRA).

Jeff has devoted countless hours as a volunteer leader in professional organizations. He served the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) as Chair of the Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) Credential Committee (2014-17), Member of the CFF Credential Committee (2011-13), and Chair of the CFF Champions Task Force (2011-13), and he received the AICPA’s Outstanding CFF Champion Award (2011). Jeff also served the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants (GSCPA) as Vice-Chair of the Forensic and Valuation Services Section Leadership Team (2010-13), Chair or Vice-Chair of the Troubled Businesses and Bankruptcy Division (2010-13), Chair or Co-Chair of the Fraud and Forensic Accounting Conference Task Force (2008-09), and member of the Forensic and Valuation Services Section Leadership Team (2007-13). Jeff also served as a Committee Member and Board Member of the Georgia Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (2005-2010), and was named Board Member Emeritus in 2010.

What Others Are Saying

  • “Jeff, I want to thank you for all your hard work and efforts on the forensics project. I don’t recall ever seeing such a valuable body of work produced in such a short time, including delivering an extraordinary report. Thanks for all the hard work and exceptional efforts under extreme pressure. I hope we have the opportunity to work together again…perhaps as soon as next week.”

Larry D. Hughes, CEO, Everest Group International, LLC

  • “I have known Jeff for many years. Although we did not work directly together at Ernst & Young his reputation for quality work was well known. Since that time Jeff and I have had many mutual friends and clients that he has worked with. I have never heard a bad thing about Jeff in 30 years. Only good. He is a stand up guy. Does what he says he will do. Not many folks you can say that about these days.”

Robin Hensley, President, Raising the Bar

  • “Jeff, this is a true example of who you are and I am simply overwhelmed by your refund. I have already let the Chairman and Financial Partner as well as the firm that does our accounting work know of how you handled this. You are a blessing to us and you will be blessed. We’ll be in touch if we, or anyone we know, needs help in the future.”

James Gillespie, Executive Administrator and CFO, Constangy, Brooks, Smith & Prophete, LLP
