AFPN membership is designed for professionals who meet all of the following criteria:

• Practice primarily as an accounting or financial freelancer or solo-practitioner;

• Work primarily in the metropolitan Atlanta area;

• Provide services relating to the following roles, positions, or niches: 

  • CFO, controller, accounting manager, finance manager, business/investment analyst, external/internal auditor
  • Business office manager, bookkeeper, or clerk
  • Internal controls, SOX, ethics and compliance, corporate governance
  • Fraud prevention, detection, and investigation
  • Forensic accounting, litigation services, and business valuation
  • Business plans, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, treasury management
  • Business workouts, turnarounds, liquidations, receiverships, bankruptcy, or profit-enhancement
  • Mergers, acquisitions, divestitures; business brokerage, investing or lending
  • Lawyer or paraprofessional (litigation, incorporation, contracts, bankruptcy, etc)
  • Accounting systems and information technology
  • Taxation (Income, sales & use, property)

• Are not engaged or focused in the following: recruiting and staffing, human resources, real estate brokerage and sales, insurance, stock brokerage, wealth management, retirement planning, sales and marketing, public relations, advertising, outsourced payroll, sale of equipment or supplies, etc.

• Professionals in transition - Accounting and financial professionals who typically work full-time in industry or larger public accounting, consulting and other professional service firms sometimes find themselves unemployed. These individuals oftentimes wish to pursue interim or project-type work assignments while searching for a new full-time position, and thus may be good candidates for temporary AFPN membership.
